At Afriski our guiding principle is the health and safety of our staff, our guests and the local community. We are committed to responsibly maintaining our operations and have therefore developed additional safety policies in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. The policies are provided with guidance and knowledge from SA Tourism. Please note that as this is a dynamic situation we will be frequently adjusting our safety policies and operations to protect both our employees and guests.

[1] Some general measures taken at Afriski:

  • Daily screening of employees for COVID-19 symptoms before each starts their shift and asking them to
    stay home if they are feeling ill or have been exposed to someone with the illness
  • Requiring all employees to wear a face mask at all times while on the property – regardless of their position – as well as gloves where appropriate
  • Frequently cleaning and disinfecting high-touch surfaces
  • Providing hand sanitising stations in common areas throughout the Resort
  • Implementing physical distancing measures in queues and other similar areas of the Resort
  • Reserving the right to limit the number of guests/participants in any area of the Resort as needed
  • To limit exposure, we are keeping our staff complement to a minimum, with shorter shifts and higher rotation

[2] Some measures Afriski is requesting of our guests:

  • Staying home if you are displaying signs of respiratory illness or have a fever
  • Complying with physical distance guidelines and remaining at least 1.5 meters apart from others
  • Following our requests to wear a face mask at all times
  • Booking all activities in advance through our central reservations or by phone to prevent unnecessary in-person transactions
  • Washing hands and using sanitiser frequently
  • Paying with a credit/debit card rather than in cash
  • Refraining from congregating in common areas
  • Using our takeaway menu option from Sky Restaurant or, where possible, self catering in chalets

[3] Additional accommodation-specific measures:

  • Removal of non-essential items from rooms such as magazines, cushions, notepads and pens
  • Sanitising the room after every guest has departed
  • Closure of all game rooms

[4] Additional restaurant and dining measures:

  • Reduction of indoor and outdoor seating capacity by 50%
  • Provision of single-use menus that are then responsibly recycled
  • Sanitation of payment systems and pens after every usage
  • Waiting until after guests have been seated to place utensils and napkins on the table
  • Leaving all used utensils, plates and glassware on tables until guests depart

  • Please book your snowpass with one of our reservation agents so as to avoid having to queue
  • Make Sky Restaurant reservations in advance
  • Dine with a maximum of 10 people in your party
